Internet    w w w     and more Internet!!!!

WEEK 4
It is amazing to find many useful sites for teaching.

I am realizing my next semester, full of technology. With all the information that I am learning I think that not only my teaching style is changing. I think that my students are going to find my class more attractive.

It supposes that for the next semester that starts on August, our English classrooms will get a canyon!! This is the best news that I got during this week. I can´t imagine how my classes are going to be. The semester is next to the corner, and to work with technology as Batool mentioned with technology maybe we have to work more, but if I start planning, looking for web sites and using my delicious bookmark, everything will be easier.
Andrea.

  3. Hi Andrea!!

Yes, I agree with you. This week has been quite eventful to us as language teachers. I too learnt a lot from the readings given to us and I too feel that we could revolutionize our language classes with the use of technology!
As I mentioned in my blog, this is a great opportunity for us as well as our students to use computers and technology to improve language skills, especially writing skills.

But as mentioned by Krajka, we must know how to integrate the internet into our lessons, keeping in mind its effectiveness. We also need to have some kind of backup plan ( especially for those of us who are in the Developing World ) as we might encounter various technical problems when we go into our language classes. Issues like bad/lack of internet connection should be expected, and we teachers should be prepared well ahead so that we do not de-motivate our students by making them waste their time in class. For this, we need to be ready with lessons copied in our pen drives and also have hard copies of the lessons in case if everything fails.

But as I said earlier, I too am very excited about all this and cannot wait to try this out in class.

    Cheers!

  6. Hello Andrea,

Indeed we are learning so much about technology that we can't imagine our classes without it.
I also think about the different possibilities of digital resources. I also imagine how and when I am going to use it.

I agree with the fact that working with technology implies more time to plan and to check if everything works. However, I think that it is worth the effort. Our students will benefit form it.

    Carry on working.
